Insertion Style Paddlewheel Flow Sensor
Insertion style paddlewheel flow sensors measure fluid velocity at the insertion point of the sensor. This data, in the form of an electrical frequency output from the sensor, is t
hen modified within the receiving instrument so that a flow rate value can be calculated and displayed. An insertion fitting which matches the size and material of the piping must be supplied with this type of sensor.
The Signet Model 515 Rotor-X paddlewheel flow sensor is an industry standard for measuring the flow of clean, water-like fluids flowing as fully developed turbulent flow within pipes.
A flow measurement system consists of three items:
- The paddlewheel flow sensor.
- The insertion fitting that must be matched to the size and material of the pipe.
- The monitor, transmitter or indicator that receives the signal.
